Basyang!

Last night, I was not expecting that typhoon Basyang (international code name Conson) was that strong, it made the company's operation suspended due to power lost. The generator cannot supply enough power for the whole building. We are advised by the Operations Manager to stay and wait for further announcement until 4:00 A.M in the morning. The wind was so strong howling like a child screaming in pain or even sounds like a whistling kettle (check out the video below on how the wind sounded). While we are waiting, we had fun talking, cart wheels, taking pictures, played Monster Hunter and some of the peeps stayed on their seats and on their tables and slept. Check out the photos below:

As the wind continues to howl that time - trees and electric poles fell down, roofs flew and garbages was all over the streets. Street sweepers were busy cleaning -  some residents in our place volunterred to help. After 13 hours of waiting, electricity went back to normal but unfortunately some places in the metro is still experiencing power lost.

The saddest part was, Basyang left 20 casualties and 60 persons missing. Authorities said 20 people had been confirmed killed, including two squatters from a vast lakeside shanty town near Manila who were crushed when their homes collapsed. Fifty-seven fishermen were also missing, while three other people were unaccounted for south of the capital after flooding swept away their shanties, according to the military. Click here for more
